Togo 2-Seater Sofa in Green Leather by Michel Ducaroy
A showstopping 2-seater, the leather Togo epitomizes 70’s cool while offering extreme comfort. This version, in deep teal green leather is unique and can be sold with it's accompanying 1 and 3-seater matches. In excellent condition, though note the small tear in the leather, which is low on the right side of the sofa (and not visible until close inspection).
ABOUT TOGO
It is said that Togo, a cushy, crimped, ground-hugging sofa series, was inspired by French designer Michel Ducaroy’s examination of his used-up aluminum toothpaste tube, one morning in the 1960s. Unveiled at Paris’s Salon des Arts Ménagers in 1973, the hunk of foam wrapped in quilted polyester that Ducaroy designed for Ligne Roset was met with skepticism, but its comfort soon swayed the haters - becoming an icon of 1970s-era design.
