Rosenthal Teller Plate by Roy Lichtenstein

Roy Lichtenstein's unmistakable visual language comes to porcelain in this limited-edition service plate produced by Rosenthal. Bold bands of primary colour, sweeping graphic lines, and his signature Ben-Day dots transform an everyday object into a work of Pop Art, blurring the line between fine art and functional design.

Created between 1986 and 1988 and released in 1990, the plate was the inaugural edition in Rosenthal's Künstlerplatzteller (Artist Plates) series, which also featured works by Tom Wesselmann and Frank Stella. Issued in a limited edition of 3,000, each example is individually numbered on the reverse and presented in its original Rosenthal box.
