Originally designed for the Paulistano Athletic Club in São Paulo, Brazil, by Paulo Mendes da Rocha in 1957, the Paulistano armchair’s frame is a continuous 17-foot-long piece of solid steel that’s welded in a single spot and hand-machine polished. The deceptively simple structure is wrapped in a new caramel leather seat. This exceptionally comfortable cult chair has been included in the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art of New York (MoMA). Made in France. Sold individually, two available.
