Pair of "Harry" Armchairs in Striped Fabric by Antonio Citterio
Mid-’90s B&B Italia was refining what modern comfort looked like, and the “Harry” armchair sits right in that moment. Designed in 1995 by Antonio Citterio, its name references Harry Bertoia, the Italian-born artist and designer known for his mid-century wire chairs that reduced seating to structure and line. The connection shows up in the lift of the generous seats, which bring a sense of lightness to an otherwise oversized, cozy silhouette.
Since it's inception in the mid-1960s, B&B Italia had been refining its use of cold-moulded polyurethane foam technology, a process that allowed for greater precision in shape and support and helped shift the standards of upholstered furniture production.
