American Artist Duayne Hatchett is "a poet of physical beauty, defined through a felt sense of proportion." He became well known in the 1960s as his art moved from junk metal and found object sculptures into a geometric abstract art that achieved maximum effect with minimal means.

This standing sculpture is a prime example of Hatchett's metal work, providing the viewer with a playful black and white dance, as the eye moves across its plane.
