Titled "Affetuoso ed Appasionato", the large and bold colour field painting by prominent Canadian artist John Anderson has us stepping into another place. Anderson's body of work is vast, his colour field studies mostly done in the early 1970s. Bold geometry and graphic symmetry achieved through highly saturated pigments, mesmerizing as if being invited through a colourful portal. Signed and dated (1973) by the artist on the back of the canvas - which is a surprising pop of intensity in its own right.
