Conversational Objects 4 Piece Cutlery Set w Holder by Virgil Abloh
Sold Out
Cutlery set composed of four spoons, four forks, four knives, four small spoons in 18/10 stainless steel. Cutlery holder in 18/8 stainless steel.
"CONVIVIAL TOOLS
If Virgil Abloh wanted to provocatively abstract the mise en place from the table and transform it into a personal object with his Occasional Objects cutlery, with the Conversational Objects collection he celebrated the table as a veritable theatre of sociality. Conceived in 2021, it is a set of mechanically inspired “table tools” to build community and relationships during the convivial ritual.
DEDICATED TO
For enthusiasts of design and creativity who see the convivial experience as a moment of exchange and growth, for those who believe that objects should be capable of stimulating conversation and social interaction as well as fulfilling their purpose.
CUTLERY SET
THE RELATIONSHIP WORKSHOP
From the workshop to the table: the essential cutlery set designed by Virgil Abloh unites the final product with the mechanical tools typical of his production, in a formal short- circuit with a strong poetic charge. Tools of conviviality, literally speaking, which trigger conversations, to build social interactions and relationships while we eat.
COMPONENTS
Proposed in two different sets.
4-piece set, consisting of: knife, fork, spoon and teaspoon, made of matt-finish stainless steel.
16-piece set, consisting of: fourspoons, fourforks, fourknives, foursmall spoons in 18/10 stainless steel. Completed by a matt-finish stainless steel cutlery stand.
DESIGN NOTE
Dada
In an operation bordering on the ready-made, Virgil Abloh demonstrates once again his extraordinarily transversal approach to design, bringing two apparently distant worlds together.
Convivial
The explicitly social and convivial spirit that permeates this project is also conveyed by the cutlery stand that completes the set: placed in the centre of the table, it allows informal use of the mise en place, giving each diner the chance to serve themselves.
To be admired
The unusual design of the cutlery stand suggests leaving the set in view once the cutlery has been put back on it, making it an original furnishing accessory.
USE AND MAINTENANCE
[Easy to clean] Dishwasher safe cutlery. Do not use abrasive cloths or detergents which might damage the surface. Wash the cutlery stand by hand, taking care not to use abrasive cloths or detergents that might damage the surface.
PACKAGING
Presented in special packaging designed by Studio Temp to celebrate the collaboration between Alessi and Virgil Abloh. An original concept inspired by the graphic tradition of the Alessi Technical Department.
