Pair of Brass Ball Table Lamps by Robert Sonneman
Pair of tall brass “eyeball” table lamps by Robert Sonneman. Among Sonneman’s hallmark 1970s waterfall design, his work features unconventional treatments toward shape and balance, often inspired by modern architecture. The designer once said of his work: “I saw the lamps that I built as lighting machines that glorified the industrial aesthetic.”
The three-way switch allows for selection of the number of bulbs in use - 2, 3 or all 5 bulbs at once. The arms are somewhat adjustable so they can vary in height and angle.
