The "Shadow" chair by Gaetano Pesce is an innovative piece of design, crafted by Meritalia. Like many of Pesce's works, it plays with form, colour and texture, aiming to create a unique experience for the user. 

The Shadow is characterized by its soft polyurethane foam upholstery, allowing it to adapt to the user's body while offering comfort. The absence of a traditional mold in its construction results in a distinctive look, emphasizing its organic form and the idea of versatility in design - it adapts to the body it welcomes.

Formed from pouring polyurethane resin into the bag-like vinyl upholstery it then sets and hardens around the negative space of a person sitting. Thus creating a comfortable, natural seating element and a chair in which every unit is unique in form.

This approach aligns with Pesce's philosophy of creating furniture that interacts with its environment and the people who use it.
