The VDL Floor Lamp was conceived with the intention to cast indirect light upward and outward rather than act as a visual focal point. Designed by architect Richard Neutra for Martinelli Luce, the lamp translates architectural thinking into a domestic scale. Its tall, linear form directs illumination onto surrounding surfaces, extending light into the room in the same way Neutra treated space within his building designs.
