Tapestry 3-Seater Sandra Sofa, Newly Upholstered by Annie Hiéronimus
Designed by Annie Hiéronimus in the 1970s for Cinna, the Sandra sofa captures a moment when French seating shifted away from rigid structure toward softness and ease. Its low, enveloping form and continuous quilting blur the line between frame and cushion. Rather than relying on visible legs or sharp edges, it sits close to the ground, built around comfort as a full-body experience.
Cinna, the contemporary design division of French furniture house Ligne Roset, embraced this kind of forward thinking. It's designs prioritized new materials, looser silhouettes, and a more casual way of living. The Sandra became iconic for that reason: it represents a decisive move toward informal, sink-in seating that defined late 20th-century interiors.
Newly upholstered, this example keeps that original intention intact while giving the design a fresh, current energy.
