Ozark Pottery
Ozark Pottery, based in Heber Springs, Arkansas, was one of several regional makers that embraced the mission-swirl style in the mid-20th century. Using clays tinted in bold artificial colors, Ozark potters created wheel-thrown vessels with lively marbled patterns that appealed to tourists and collectors alike. The technique drew on earlier experiments in marbleized clay blending, but Ozark’s use of brightly pigmented clays and durable stoneware gave the pieces a distinctive roadside character. Though often compared with contemporaries like Niloak and Camark, Ozark pieces stand out for their vivid palette and playful roadside charm, making them highly collectible examples of American mission-swirl pottery.
