Studied art and philosophy in Virginia and New York, followed by various teaching assignments at American universities such as Yale. He then worked as a freelance art critic for international art magazines and as a painter and sculptor looking for the “in-between”. Breakthrough with the essay \"Specific Objects\". From 1977 onwards, Judd lived in Marfa, Texas, where he worked on spatial projects and exemplary installations together with friends. Judd is considered a leading figure of Minimalism, alongside Robert Morris and Sol LeWitt. Starting in 1984, he collaborated with Lehni and participated in exhibitions in renowned galleries worldwide.
